The mission of the Intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Crossing Borders Language Center (CBLC), Katy is to provide a unique humanistic approach for diverse students who wish to improve their English language skills. Through our intensive programs, students develop grammatical accuracy, fluency, listening, and writing skills. An innovative curriculum, small class sizes, excellent faculty, and friendly staff create a memorable educational experience.

Crossing Borders Language Center offers a proprietary curriculum developed by certified teachers for the English program. The name reflects the goal of making English learning simple and effective.
The program is designed to help students learn English quickly and begin having conversations in a short time. Many students start speaking English within a few months after enrolling in the English program.
Students also enjoy a vibrant learning environment filled with activities, field trips, games, and opportunities to meet new friends.
Program Duration:
6 weeks
Students are required to attend classes Monday through Friday.
Class sessions are held from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The program offers the following levels:
- Emergent A (CEFR < A1)
- Emergent B (CEFR < A1)
- Low Beginner (CEFR A1)
- High Beginner (CEFR A2)

- High Intermediate (CEFR B2)
- Advanced (CEFR B2 + C1)
- Advanced II (CEFR C1)
All levels include extensive reading, writing, grammar, and speaking practice.
Each level is a 6-week program designed to help students speak English with greater confidence.

Beginner Levels

Advanced Levels

Students continue practicing speaking, writing, and grammar to achieve greater accuracy and confidence.
TOEFL Preparation
The TOEFL preparation course builds on the advanced levels and is designed to help students achieve strong TOEFL scores.
The course includes:
- Online practice tests
- Reading, writing, speaking, and listening exercises
- Time-management strategies
- Study techniques and exam preparation guidance
Study sections include:
- Reading

The intensive TOEFL preparation program focuses on the key sections of the exam: reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
TOEFL test takers are typically:

Classes include discussions, quizzes, games, and writing activities. Teachers help build speaking confidence while improving reading, writing, and listening skills.
