The mission of intensive English as a Second Language (ESL) program at Crossing Borders Language Center (CBLC), Katy is to provide a unique humanistic approach to diverse students who wish to improve their English language skills. With our intensive programs, students will develop grammatical accuracy, fluency, listening and writing skills. Innovative curriculum, small class sizes, excellent faculty and friendly staff result in an unforgettable educational experience.
Classes are Monday to Friday 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Easy Peasy English
CBLC Katy offers proprietary curriculum specially developed by our certified teachers for easy peasy English. The name says it all for our intensive English classes. We made the program for you, so you can easily learn English. Our program is easy, you will learn fast and you will have conversations in no time. Our students are having English conversations within a couple of months after enrolling into our easy peasy English program. You can too. Enroll today. It is 6 weeks of fun with easy peasy English.
The program requires students to attend classes Monday through Friday. Class meets at 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM or 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM depending on the level enrolled.
We offer the following Easy Peasy English levels:
- Emergent A (CEFR <A1)
- Emergent B (CEFR<A1)
- Low Beginner (CEFR A1)
- High Beginner (CEFR A2)
- Low Intermediate (CEFR A2+B1)
- Intermediate (CEFR B1)
- High Intermediate (CEFR B2)
- Advanced (CEFR B2+C1)
- Advanced II (CEFR C1)
All levels cover extensive reading, writing, grammar and speaking. Our students speak better English. Each level is an 6 week’s program. You will speak confidently.

BEGINNER LEVELS
Beginner levels target the fundamentals necessary to learn English effectively, with an emphasis on developing the crucial foundations of written and oral communication. These English classes focus on the following key areas:
- The fundamental structure of the English language
- Practical and applicable vocabulary words
- The basics of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English
INTERMEDIATE LEVELS
Intermediate levels are designed for students who want to learn to speak English at an increased fluency and linguistic level. These English courses include the following areas of focus:
- Enhanced vocabulary
- Conversational English, including accurate pronunciation
- Critical comprehension skills in verbal and written communication
- Preparation for common academic expectations, including essay writing and note-taking
ADVANCED LEVELS
This course is designed for students who are fluent in the English language but wish to improve further or are planning on attending a college or university in the United States Or are planning to take TOEFL. Students will have ample time to practice speaking and writing English, and work on proper grammar.
TOEFL PREPARATION
The TOEFL prep course builds from the advanced levels and has been specially designed to help students get high scores in TOEFL exam. This course includes online practice tests, reading, writing, and speaking, time management, advice on good study habits, and practical advice on how to succeed when taking the TOEFL exam.
Study sections include reading, listening, speaking, and writing in English.
Our intensive TOEFL prep course focusses on the key essential sections of the exam Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
English is not the primary language for TOEFL test takers, and they are typically:
- Students planning to study at an institution or university
- Candidates for scholarships and professional certification
- English-language learners who want to track their progress
- Students and workers applying for visas in certain countries
The classes are interactive with group discussions, quizzes, games, and essays. Our teachers boost your speaking confidence, provide you time management tips, work with you on your reading, writing, and listening skills.
